Probable or possible origin of name: John Cole, locksmith, scalemaker, bellhanger, adjuster, 290 Little Collins St. Other sources attribute to Edward William Cole, proprietor, Coles Book Arcade, however, the latter was still operating at Eastern Market at the time. Location is approximate. |
