| Description |
Tindale's maps are an attempt to represent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander tribal regions. There are several versions with slight variations. Some use phonetic spelling. This map is derived from a version available online through the ANU using Romanised spelling. These are points only for reference. Tindales maps have boundaries. Tindale's research was thorough, but these names and regions remain his interpretation from a Colonial perspective. Regions may be more complex, or contested. |
