Reel 21
Side A: Smi at Grkek: Bulmer & Pawley
Side B: Smi at Grkek (Blm)
Both sides contain recordings of a traditional dance performance by mostly male dancers. This appears to be a cultural celebration lasting through the night with performers and audiences from different villages.
(Andy Pawley or Ralph Bulmer) provides commentary throughout most of the recording, including details of the dancers, instruments used, and the dancing regalia, as well as a rich description of the landscape of the immediate area.
At the end of track B (31m27s), Andy Pawley explains that at about 5.50am, those visitors who have received pork will stay a bit longer, the others are starting to pack up.
Recorded 21-22/09/1963
